AppWand is made and run by Afrifanom Limited ("we", "us"). These terms cover the AppWand desktop app, the AppWand service it talks to (api.appwand.dev), sandbox deploys on appwand.io, and this website. By installing AppWand or signing in, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use AppWand. Questions go to support@appwand.dev.
In short
- The code AppWand writes for you is yours, on every plan, even if you stop paying.
- You are responsible for what you build and for checking the code before you rely on it.
- Paid plans renew every month until you cancel. Payments are not refunded (see the refund policy).
- Don't use AppWand to break the law or to harm other people or our service.
Your account
You sign in with GitHub or Google. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter into a contract where you live. Keep your sign-in safe: you are responsible for what is done through your account. One account is for one person. If you think someone else has used yours, tell us.
Using AppWand
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use the AppWand desktop app on your own computers, for your own work or your organisation's, for as long as you keep to these terms. You may not resell AppWand, rent it out, remove its notices, or take it apart to copy how it works, except where the law gives you that right.
AppWand needs tools that are not ours, such as Flutter, Node.js and your database. They come under their own licences.
Your code and your apps
The projects you build with AppWand, the code it writes for you, and the apps you make from them are yours. We claim no rights over them. You may change, publish and sell them, and keep using them after you stop using AppWand.
What you send us (your descriptions, instructions, attached files, table definitions and code) stays yours. You give us permission to use it only to provide the service: to produce the answer you asked for, to run a deploy, or to push to your GitHub repository. How we handle it is in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for your apps: what they do, the data they hold, the people who use them, and the laws that apply to them. Make sure you have the right to everything you put into a project.
AI-written code
AppWand writes code with AI models. That code can contain mistakes, security problems or parts that do not do what you meant. Read and test it before you rely on it, above all before you put an app in front of real users or real data. Similar requests from different people can produce similar code, so we cannot promise that what is written for you is unique.
Plans and AI tokens
Every account starts on the Free plan. The pricing section shows what each plan includes. A plan gives you an allowance of AI tokens and a number of sandbox APIs. The monthly allowance of a paid plan resets on the 1st of each month, and tokens you did not use are not carried over. Packs of extra tokens, where we sell them, do not expire and are used after your plan's allowance. When your tokens run out, the AI features stop until the allowance resets or you buy more; everything else keeps working.
We may change what a plan includes or what it costs. If a change makes a plan you pay for worse or dearer, we will tell you in the app or by email before your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
Payment, renewal and cancelling
Paid plans are sold by FastSpring, our reseller and the merchant of record. FastSpring takes your payment, adds any tax that applies and sends your receipt; its own terms apply to the purchase. We never see your card details.
A paid plan is a subscription. It is charged when you buy it and again every month, at the price then in force, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from inside AppWand (Plans, then Manage billing) or from FastSpring's emails. After you cancel you keep the plan until the end of the month you have paid for, then your account goes back to Free. If a renewal payment fails, the plan may end.
Payments are not refunded. The details and the few exceptions are in the refund policy, which is part of these terms.
Sandbox deploys
A sandbox deploy puts your app's API, and its web app if you choose, online at an appwand.io address so you can test it and show it to others. It is a sandbox, not production hosting: we do not promise that it stays up, that it is fast, or that its data is backed up. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We may stop or remove a deployment that harms the service or other people, breaks these terms, or belongs to an account that has been closed.
What you must not do
- Build or deploy anything illegal, or anything meant to harm, deceive or spy on people: malware, phishing, spam, fraud.
- Put content online that you have no right to use, or that is unlawful where you or our servers are.
- Attack, overload or probe our service, or try to reach other people's accounts, apps or data.
- Get around the limits of your plan, share one account between people, or open several accounts to collect free allowances.
- Use the AI features in a way the model providers' own usage policies forbid.
- Use a sandbox deploy for something that is not an app's API or web app, such as mining, proxying or bulk file hosting.
If you break these rules we may limit, suspend or close your account, and take your deployments offline.
Other services
AppWand works with services that are not ours: GitHub and Google for sign-in, GitHub for the pushes you ask for, AI model providers, FastSpring, and whatever your own apps connect to (your database, email, storage, Firebase and so on). Your use of each is under its own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
What is ours
The AppWand desktop app, the service, this website, and the AppWand name and logo belong to us. These terms give you the right to use them, not to own them. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
Changes to AppWand
We keep working on AppWand, so features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may be unavailable at times, for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Your projects are folders on your own computer and keep working as plain code whatever happens to the service.
No warranty
AppWand is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no warranty, express or implied, that it is free of errors, that it will always be available, that the code it writes is correct, secure or fit for a particular purpose, or that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
Limit of our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of AppWand or of the apps you build with it. Our total liability to you for everything connected with AppWand is limited to what you paid for AppWand in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
If someone makes a claim because of your app
If a third party makes a claim against us because of an app you built or deployed, the content you put into it, or your breaking these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that claim causes us.
Ending
You can stop using AppWand at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@appwand.dev. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. When an account is closed, its sandbox deploys are taken offline and deleted. The code on your computer stays yours.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we will update this page and its date. For a significant change, we will also tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using AppWand after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and disputes about them go to the courts of Ghana. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the law where you live, or your right to bring a claim there.
